Welcome to Sam's Lavender

Since 2017, we’ve been growing lavender, figuring out what works and planting more of it. What started as a handful of plants has grown to more than a thousand, with over a dozen varieties.

We grow both culinary and aromatic lavender, harvest it by hand, and distill it right here on the farm for essential oil and hydrosol. From there we make the things we actually use, including lavender sugars, cocktail garnishes, cleaners, mists, body care and more.

Everything we make is available online, made in small batches, and shipped straight from our Finger Lakes farm.

  • THE FARM AT SAM'S LAVENDER

We've been hand-planting, hand-weeding, and hand-harvesting lavender on the farm since 2017. We currently have seven English (culinary) and five French (aromatic) varieties, with more planned in the future.

    MORE ABOUT THE FARM
  • MADE ON THE FARM

Growing both aromatic and culinary lavender enables us to produce a range of farm goods. The addition of our copper still means we can now incorporate our own distilled essential oils and hydrosol into our products.

  • DID YOU KNOW...

Not only do our bees pollinate the lavender, but they also act as messengers. They tell us when we should harvest our culinary lavender (before they arrive) or harvest for distilling (once they're gone.)
