CAN I VISIT THE FARM?

Sam's is located on a working farm and is therefore not available for tours or U-pick. For fresh flowers in-season, contact us for information on all local availability.

WHAT IS YOUR GROWING ETHOS?

We keep it simple and hands-on. All our lavender is planted, weeded, and harvested by hand.We don't use any chemicals, pesticides, or fertilizers. We may be powered by podcasts, books, and music though. Do earbuds count as farm equipment?

LET'S TALK PACKAGING!

We hate plastic too. That's why we've spent a lot of time searching for alternatives. Whenever possible, we use glass or aluminum containers, which can be refilled, reused, or repurposed. Our paper containers are fully recyclable. We’re also committed to reducing waste in shipping, so we often reuse packing materials whenever we can. We’re always working to improve, so if you have any great packaging ideas, please let us know—we’re all ears!

DO YOU OFFER PERSONALIZED GIFT PACKAGES?

Yes, we do! Whether you’re looking for a thoughtful thank-you, a special event gift, or something customized for your team or clients, we’re here to help. Reach out, and we’ll create a gift package they’ll love—because, honestly, who can resist the smell of lavender?

TELL ME MORE ABOUT YOUR ESSENTIAL OIL AND HYDROSOL

When the bees start to leave the lavender fields, we know it’s time to harvest. We trim the plants by hand, focusing on the buds, not the stems.

The lavender goes into a copper still for steam distillation. As the steam passes through, it pulls out the oil and aromatic compounds. Once cooled, it separates into two things: lavender hydrosol and a small amount of essential oil.

The yield is small, but the quality’s high—and we wouldn’t make it any other way.

I'M A FLORISTS OR DESIGNERS - HOW CAN I WORK WITH YOUR LAVENDER?

We love working with florists and designers on fresh and dried lavender for bouquets, arrangements, and events. For bloom timing and availability, reach out with as much advance notice as possible—we’ll do our best to make it happen.

Do you sell fresh lavender?
Yes, when it's in season—typically mid-to-late summer, depending on the weather. We harvest to order when possible.

Do you offer dried lavender?
Yes. We dry lavender in small batches throughout the season. If you're looking for specific varieties, color, or quantity, just let us know.

Can I order in bulk for events or styling?
Definitely. We offer dried bundles, loose buds, and stripped stems depending on your needs. We’re happy to talk through options.

Do you take custom requests?
If we can, we will. Whether it’s stem length, prep style, or packaging—we’re open to ideas.

How do I place an order?
Send us a message through the contact form or email us with what you’re looking for. We’ll get back to you with details.

WHY ARE SOME ITEMS ONLY AVAILBLE FOR SHIPPING TO NYS?

Due to New York State regulations, certain culinary products are restricted from being shipped outside of the state. These restrictions are in place to comply with state licensing requirements.

If you're planning to visit the Finger Lakes area and would like to pick up these items in person, please contact us directly at info@samslavender.com to arrange a local pickup.

WHEN ARE FRESH FLOWERS AVAILABLE?

Our English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), known for its culinary uses, typically blooms in early to mid-June and lasts for a few weeks.

French lavender (Lavandula x intermedia), blooms a few weeks later, usually in early July, and also lasts for several weeks.

Occasionally, we experience a second bloom of the English lavender, but this is entirely up to Mother Nature.

Our fresh lavender can be found in select shops locally and at local markets during the season. To stay updated on where to find us, follow us on Instagram @samslavender.

Can’t make it to the Finger Lakes? No problem! We can ship fresh lavender directly to you during the bloom season. Contact us for availability or shipping details.
